Go Auto Named One of Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures

go civicThe Edmonton-based company was the only automotive group honoured in 2018

EDMONTON, Nov. 22, 2018 /CNW/ - Go Auto, Edmonton's largest automotive dealership network, has been named one of Canada's Most Admired™ Corporate Cultures in 2018. This national program, presented by Waterstone Human Capital, annually recognizes best-in-class Canadian organizations for having cultures that enhance performance and help sustain a competitive advantage.

In addition to first-class compensation, benefits, opportunities, and treatment, Go Auto promotes a strong promote-from-within philosophy based on results, not an employee's resume, tenure, or credentials. Every employee, regardless of their position within the company, is expected to be a trustworthy team player who is happy to help.

The company regularly contributes to organizations that help hundreds of thousands of Canadians each year. Not only did it give $1 million to its employees to be used towards the Random Acts of Kindness in their communities, but employees can also volunteer every week for Go Auto Fuels the Schools, a program that delivers food to underprivileged schoolchildren across Edmonton.

"At Waterstone we believe corporate culture drives performance and that it's your organization's greatest asset," said Marty Parker, President and Chief Executive Officer of Waterstone Human Capital and Chair of Canada's Most Admired™ Corporate Cultures. "They set an outstanding example for cultivating and sustaining great cultures that ultimately drive growth and performance. This year's winning organizations are to be admired for the diverse and impactful ways they ensure culture underpins their success."

Go Auto's full-time Employee Experience team organizes annual meet and greets with the Edmonton Oilers, Corporate Challenge events, expenses-paid trips for top performers, a 20-dealership BBQ tour catered by Go Auto's in-house kitchen team (led by a Red Seal chef), and an employee lunch program that makes 1200+ meals every week.

"As one of Canada's largest dealer networks, we believe it is our responsibility to make the industry better," said Go Auto President, Jason Smith. "That starts with our people. When you take great care of your employees they will take exceptional care of your customers. We want to inspire the next wave of great automotive leaders, not just in our communities, but in our country. To this end, we are committed to strengthening our people, our brands, and our industry."

Organizations were judged on six categories: vision and leadership, recruitment and hiring for fit, cultural alignment and measurement, retention, rewards and recognition, organizational performance and corporate social responsibility.
