18 inch rear and 21 inch front to fit 08 or older Road Glide or other H-D deckers. These wheels "when new" were worth an easy grand each and the drive pulley about $300.

The great headlight debate:

Rev Chuck PearceMy 2008 Road King had the killer headlight and running lights so night riding was a piece of cake and oncoming traffic would be hard pressed not to see me coming. Honestly the set up of lights on this biker were amazing. Particularly when compared to the single head light versions I had ridden in years past.

Finding Space in the Outlaw World

columnist Big SugarI grew up around bikers.

My dad rode an old Virago 750 as long as I can remember, until us kids were out of the house and he could afford the Dyna he had always wanted.  The beginning of the season was marked by the clearing of the snow on the driveway so that thin little dry path could get the bike to the pavement, the end by that last ride in a parka to feel the wind one more time before winter. Friends with grease-stained hands in dirty jeans and well-loved leather were always a part of my world, and from the time I was little I wanted to be one of them, part of that community.

What are these people thinking ?!

Rev Chuck PearceWhat am I missing here with this “Running of the Bulls” thing? The Running of the Bulls  is a practice that involves people running in front of a small group of about a dozen bulls that have been let loose on a course through city streets that have been sectioned off.  It seems the origin of this event comes from the need to transport the bulls from the their pens where they had spent the night, to the bullring where they would be killed later that day. And just exactly why people jump into the roads at yearly festivals where the bulls will be snorting, bucking and racing at insane speeds is anyone’s guess. Personally, I don’t get it.

Hey! What’s going on here?

Rev Chuck PearceWhy is it that lately people are talking so quietly?  And how come my pipes don’t sound as loud as they once did? They say that as we age, not unlike an old motorcycle or cage, our bodies and our senses begin to take a step or two back.

Camera, Camera everywhere a Camera

Rev Chuck PearceRemember the song by The Five Man Electrical Band that was released in 1970 titled, “Sign, Sign everywhere a Sign”? According to one article, the average big city resident walks into the view of a camera 75 times a day, a far cry from an estimated 300 times a day in London, where it is said there is one camera for every 14 residents. And this doesn’t include cameras at intersections that capture us while driving or riding as a passenger in a vehicle or on a bike.
