Edmonton Show Braves Deep Freeze on Canadian Tour Featured

edm motorcycle show EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Motorcycle & ATV Show – presented by NFP, took place January 17-19th at the Edmonton Expo Centre.

Despite frigid temperatures (over -50) that declared Edmonton the coldest city on the planet, 24,017 passionate consumers braved the cold temperatures to have a chance to see the all-new 2020 powersport products on display. Attendance was down 7% from last year (2019 attendance was 25,822 which was a 2.5% increase from 2018). Beside the cold temperatures, the show competed with a 1:00pm Saturday Oilers Game as well as Bridal Fantasy at the Expo Centre on Sunday.

Features this year included the Ground N’ Gravity Show with Freestyle Riders Keith Sayers, Chad Bauman, Luke Wheeler, Luke Dolin, Brody Wilson along with stunt riding Champion Craig Latimer. Flat Track race demos showcased the sport with local riders eager to get on their bikes in icy cold January. Vintage displays from the CVMG-NORAL, Alberta Vintage Flat Track, Alberta Vintage MX as well as the Reynolds Museum. The Biker Build in the Handle Bar had consumers engaged throughout the weekend. The always popular Yamaha Riding Academy was filled to capacity each day as children eagerly signed up to learn how to ride. Strider Adventure Zone had over 290 of our littlest attendees learning all about two-wheels.

Our Annual She Rides Night on Friday the 17th saw 302 women take advantage of the 1⁄2 price savings and then enter for a chance to win the new $2000 Shop the Show Experience. Winner Maryna M was excited to spend her windfall with show exhibitors and included her registering for her rider training course in May! Saturday had 1062 entries for the Kawasaki Own the Street Motorcycle draw, a very large and excited crowd gathered at 4:00pm to listen to hear if their names were called. Julian W was ecstatic when his key turned over the bike and is looking forward to riding his new Kawasaki Z400 this summer.

Media coverage this year: Live radio broadcasts with K97, 100.3 The Bear, in studio with K97, 100.3 The Bear. Front page photo in the Edmonton Journal and photos in the Edmonton Sun. Overall the Show continues to see an increase of social media including online photos, videos and tweets from participating exhibitors and consumers including a pre- show ticket promotion.

We want to thank all of our sponsors, exhibitors and feature partners for the continuous support in making the Edmonton Motorcycle & ATV Show a success!
