The Fort Heritage Precinct has re-opened! Featured

Fort Heritage PrecinctFORT SASKATCHEWAN, ALBERTA, - The Fort Heritage Precinct will reopen on June 30, 2020, and will provide a safe and engaging experience for visitors looking to explore the rich history of Fort Saskatchewan.

“The Fort Heritage Precinct team is looking forward to safely sharing our stunning site with the citizens of Fort Saskatchewan and the Greater Capital Region. We are delighted to have our doors open again.” states Cherise Elliott, Culture and Heritage Supervisor.

Museum staff have spent the past month preparing to safely welcome back guests and to ensure all heritage buildings and park spaces adhere to Covid-19 reopening guidelines and restrictions from the Government of Alberta, the Alberta Museum’s Association and the City of Fort Saskatchewan’s Covid-19 Pandemic Task Force.

To facilitate the best possible experience for visitors, the Fort Heritage Precinct is now offering touchless timed-ticket admission for all tours. Visitors will be able to purchase tickets, online, for one of three daily tour timeslots every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

For timeslots and to purchase tickets go to historycentre.ca Tickets cost: $7 (all ages admission)

The museum has set aside time to accommodate pre-booked appointments for research requests, object donations and other specialized services every Tuesday and Wednesday. The Fort Heritage Precinct’s gift shop and visitor information centre will be open from Tuesday to Saturday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The museum will be closed July, 1 for Canada Day.

Through the collection, research, preservation, and interpretation of local history, we create an environment of inspiration for our regional community to discover the development of Fort Saskatchewan and surrounding areas and its relevance to Western Canadian and Canadian History.
