Here in Northern Alberta we are experiencing some really odd weather

Here in Northern Alberta we are experiencing some really odd weather Here in Northern Alberta we are experiencing some really odd weather

VestSeptember was cold, rainy and snow filled.  We got 6 inches of snow that stayed for days in mid September and it made for low attendance at our toy runs.

In Lloydminster, Canada’s MOST Rider Friendly Community it was so cold for their toy run that attendance for the ride was down to 40 bikes when they would normally have over 100.  The donations were not down, but many said, sorry, it’s too cold for this cat. The ride was meant to last three hours and visit some smaller communities.

Chap Liners

I myself only rode through town before my hands were so cold that I went back to Edge Harley-Davidson and turned in the bike. One half hour later, all of the riders were back it had started to snow.

And here we are in the beginning of November and NO SNOW.  No one can go sledding but the bikes are still out.

Sure the temperatures are  cold, but if you have good heated gear, you can ride comfortably for hours!

So, how does one take advantage of this unseasonable weather?  Here in Canada we use Freedom Heated Clothing from a tiny little town called Esterhazy Saskatchewan. Her website is: heatedclothing.ca

Jacket

Janice has been helping riders extend their riding season for years now.

She offers heated vests, heated jackets that have heated collars, gauntlets and heated chap liners.  A rider herself, Janice decided this gear needed to become a part of every northern riders gear and the best part?  If you also like winter activities, these garments can be used on your sled or side by side.

Yes, officially riding season is over, BUT you can still get in some wind therapy on two wheels by simply investing in some great heated gear.

For more ideas on gifts for riders check out my Riders Gift Guide  that comes out on November 12th….
