Changes to Vancouver Motorcycle Toy Run Oct 4th, 2020 Featured

BCCOMUpdate from The Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau

In accordance with Provincial Covid 19 guidelines we will not be having the traditional Vancouver Motorcycle Toy Run on October 4, 2020.

There are many factors involved, the most important issue we could not resolve was how to respect the social distancing guidelines ,not only on the actual ride ( That part is easy), but collecting toys, handling them and getting them to the LMCB, without putting our volunteers at risk is something we will not do.
Since the Toy Run is about providing toys and monetary donations to help low income families at Christmas, we are working on having a Drop Off point at Trev Deeley Motorcycles on October 4, we will post on -line donation information and potential other drop off locations and dates as we work out further details.

We will not be doing Toy Run Pin or Shirts this year.

The Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau directly supports approx 1000 families in Vancouver and provides product support to a large group of community Christmas Bureaus and Agencies, the Motorcycle Toy run is considered the kick off event of our season, at this moment a number of our major events and toy drives are either cancelled outright, or being modified to try and meet Covid Guidelines.
We will fulfill our mandate to both help families and support other bureaus and agencies in 2020, 2021 is going to be a challenge.

Thank you to all our supporters, notably the route and site volunteers that do not get to fully ride the event, it takes about 80 people to make this all work.
