Randy Munroe launches "An Old Koot's Tales"

Randy MunroeThe Busted Knuckle Chronicles is excited to announce we are launching a new column by Randy Munroe called "An Old Koot's Tales"!

About Randy:

Randy Munroe is a retired Journeyman Millwright who moved to BC from Saskatchewan in 2006. He began riding motorcycles in Ghana in 1966 and has owned and ridden more than 30 motorcycles since 1968.

His riding credentials include ten years riding motocross in Saskatchewan winning a provincial championship in 1972 on a Yamaha 175cc Enduro converted for racing.  Following that he raced in several ISDT qualifiers in Kamloops BC as well as being the runner-up in Saskatoon’s Ice Dice series from 1980 through 1982. He also spent many hours riding the sand hills near Dundurn and Atton’s Lake Saskatchewan.

Along with the riding he was co-founder of the Saskatoon Track N Trail Motorcycle Club in 1974 then served on the executive from ’74 to ’79 then again from ’81 to ’86.  He helped organize local motocross races early on and later led trail rides in local riding areas.

His writing experience came as editor and column contributor for the Saskatchewan edition of Mensa’s newsletter called the MPath from 1986 to 1990.

His move to BC was originally to Armstrong where he traded his Kawasaki Drifter for a VN2000 and later to a 2008 Triumph Tiger that was much better suited to the local mountain twisties.  He became very familiar with the backroads and spent all his spare time riding as well as guiding friends that came from the flatlands to visit and ride.  Later he moved to the Kootenays near Nelson where he now enjoys retirement and his 2012 Triumph Tiger Explorer.
