For Women Riders Only: The Alaska Women's Tour

RoKoThis is RoKo, one of the motorcycle vacation addiction enablers at MotoQuest, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to lead a group of adventurous women on an all-paved tour of Alaska in June!

I’ve spent the past two summers working in MotoQuest’s Anchorage office and riding motorcycles around Alaska on my days off, learning the history, meeting the unique folks who call this land their home, and taking in the beauty of the dramatic scenery. It’s second to none. What’s better than seeing it all again? Bringing other riders along so I can experience it all through their fresh perspectives!

Last year, I was the support driver for a custom all-woman tour around Alaska. Click this link to read the ride report. These women wanted to ride to the Arctic Circle and see the state on motorcycles. So many memories were made that I wanted to offer a fresh opportunity for more women to come together and ride in Alaska. In the interest of attracting a wide spectrum riders, the Alaska Women’s Motorcycle Tour features an all-paved hotel to hotel itinerary. Riders can decide for themselves if they want to take advantage of any optional light dual sport “extra credit” rides at the end of the day or simply get out of their boots and relax.

We are going to spend our days on two wheels, immersed in some of the most breathtaking scenery you will ever encounter, stopping at majestic viewpoints, and dining on Alaskan cuisine. Since the Alaska Women’s Motorcycle Tour begins two days after the summer solstice, there will be up to 22 hours of daylight! When it’s finally time to get some rest, we’ll settle in at distinctly Alaskan lodging (most of which have blackout curtains, but I’m still bringing my sleep mask).

Don’t forget to pack a swimsuit! We’re spending a night at Chena Hot Springs, so if you really want to soak in the experience, don’t forget your water-duds. Riders also have the option to go full-throttle and add a massage to their visit.

Now, I’ll be honest: I’m typically a solo tourer. I know that some folks might not be too keen on riding with a group at all times. If you’re nodding along, let me assure you that MotoQuest encourages every tour participant to ride their own ride. You can blast ahead of the group to the next destination or hang back to stop for every photo op. Do whatever works for you! We will ensure riders know exactly where the accommodations are located, and our chase truck will stay safely behind the last rider. We keep our tours limited to 12 participants, so we can focus on having a great time and not on herding kittens.

See you in Alaska,
RoKo
